9-3-18 Monday
Travel Day!!! We drove about two hours from Grand Island to North Platte, and I sat on the bus with Hayden. It was really awesome getting to know him, and having a deep conversation. When we arrived, we toured the Golden Spike Tower which is the largest train yard in the country. We learned a lot about trains throughout the time there. Then we had our allocation meeting where I found out who my roommates were, and my host family. This house is AMAZING! It's huge with a hot tub, a sauna, a drum kit, a piano, two bathrooms, the entire basement, and two possible sleeping rooms. The family is Catholic, and they have the biggest hearts for hospitality. Us girls spent the night in the hot tub chatting and getting to know each other better. The family has a 17 year old daughter named Kateri, and a 20 year old son named Anthony with two cats. I am so grateful to have such and awesome host family, with really awesome roommates. This week is going to be amazing!

9-4-18 Tuesday
Today was our first CA in North Platte! I was crew leading our time with Habitat for Humanity. We had a really fun group of people, and we painted the primer coat of the inside of an entire house. The future homeowner, Sarah, was there helping us paint. The fact that we got to talk to her, and hear how our help made such a huge impact on her life was so rewarding. She is a single mom with two young boys and a very low income. She needed to move into a house very quickly and she said that us being there sped up that process. I ended up painting the bathroom the whole time with Uriel and we just jammed to Spanish music! They provided donuts in the morning, and also lunch for us. We finished 6 hours of work all before lunch, so we got to leave early. We walked 2 miles down the road to Dairy Queen and had our debrief. Then we walked back to the church and had some workshops. We went to Canes and had a VERY political conversation with out host family. Karen (From Mexico) was sharing her perspective of trump and boarder controls, and LaRyssa (From Colorado) was talking about police brutality. Our host dad is a republican trump supporter who shared his views and had a very open mind as well. It got a little tense, but overall it was cool to hear many points of view at the dinner table.

9-5-18 Wednesday
Today we spent the day at North Platte High School at an all-day culture fair. We talked to about 600 students from four local schools. My host sister, Kateri, was there with some of her friends and we made them all dance! It was such a fun day, where we got to inspire juniors and seniors in high school to travel, perform, impact, and grow as a person. Then we had a workshop about racial discrimination, and I learned a lot about things that people in my cast actually faced. When we got home, some of Kat's friends came over and we had another really long conversation at night.

9-6-18 Thursday
It's Show Day!!! We performed at the fox theater, and it was the smallest stage I've ever performed on. We could only set up a tiny part of our set, and there was absolutely no space backstage. I ended up playing Hope, singing Moana, unplugged, and crossroads in the show. Michael asked me If I would be willing to professionally record the solo I have in Here and Now for the UWP album. It was super exciting news, and I can wait to record it in Texas. The show went really well.

9-7-18 Friday
I was crew leading again for Habitat for Humanity and the volunteer, Chuck, remembered me from Tuesday. He also went to the show the night before and was very impressed. The new team went to work painting the final coat of the same house. They gave us lunch and a ride back to the church by noon. I took a nap at the church for a good three hours and it was wonderful. Then the cast went to St. Patricks high school for the first football game of the season. We got to perform during halftime at the game. I felt like I was back at Prior Lake performing with the PLDT. We had so much energy, and the whole stadium loved the performance. It was a really cool experience. Mike and Alison came to watch us perform and then we went home. We went into the hot tub and got to chill.

9-8-18 Saturday
Host family day was such fun time! First we went to a souvenirs shop to buy stickers. The second I walked in, the lady at the front desk recognized me. She was like "OMG your the amazing singer who played Hope." My roommates were giving me crap for being famous in a small town. She also knew Chuck from Habitat form Humanity... I love small towns. We had a huge Husker Football party at the Noff Household. Their friends were also hosting, so they came over and we all got to hang out for a little while. James, Isaac, Javier, and Justice all came and we played a game of BS. Then instead of watching football, we watched the Conjuring to prepare ourselves for The Nun. Many people from the cast met up at the movie theater to watch this scary movie. Yaz was not a fan so she blared music in her headphones and took a nap. Andree and I were AUDIBLY screaming at every pop out. It was so fun to do something with the cast that wasn't UWP related. Apparently, as a group, we were loud and disrespectful because we got a bad review posted to our facebook by someone in the theater. This is one of the best host family days I've had!

9-9-18 Sunday
Show Day!!! My eye has been twitching for the past four days, and that only happens when I'm extremely exhausted. Knowing that I had to run through the entire show three times in one day just made me want to cry. But, it turned out to be a great day! The Fox Theater is haunted, and after we had watched The Nun, everybody was superstitious. We climbed through the attic, and the basement to find some paranormal activity. That place really does give me the heebie-jeebies. It's an old building where everything creeks and looks like a scene from a horror movie. Half way through the first show, I passed out and fell down the stairs backstage. I was convinced it was a ghost or something because I never fall flat on my face like that. I twisted me ankle, and got a huge headache. THEN, Jodi and Peter surprised us! Ana came into the room angrily and called Demi, Paola, and I out to have a serious conversation. We were all scared we were in trouble or something bad had happened. In the end, Jodi and Peter were there to see us. It was amazing that they drove eight hours just to see us perform again. All us girls started crying when we saw them. It was a truly great moment. The show keeps getting better and better, and it such a rush performing it every time. I was signed out for admissions at the end of the day, and I got to do my first interview after the show with a kid named Jared. I ended up giving him a very low score of application because he really struggled to have a coherent conversation. It was really fun to interview someone. After strike at midnight, we went home, packed, did laundry, and went in the hot tub. We didn't got to bed until 3:00am, and we have a six hour travel day tomorrow!!!
