3-4-19 Monday
Travel Day!!! I sat next to Antoinette on the bus from Erie to Grand Junction. It was about a four hour bus drive through the mountains. We stopped in Vail Colorado and had a donated meal at Eliot's family restaurant. Then we arrived in Grand Junction and had a guest speaker come and talk to us about mental health and suicide prevention. Kraig picked Sophi and I up and took us out to dinner. We got to chill and go to bed early. I felt a bit nauseous because of the change in altitude and too much time on a bus.

3-5-19 Tuesday
Today I had a workshop with a lady named Jana Thompson, and she talked to the acoustic group about resume building and interview tips. Then I volunteered at a homeless shelter for teens who have been mentally or sexually abused. We sorted through donated clothes to prepare them for the teenagers. Then the acoustic group had some time to work on the disney medley and other songs. The cast had some time to walk around the town of Grand Junction and tour little shops. When Kriag picked us up, we went out to dinner for some Sushi! It was so good and I think it is becoming one of my favorite foods. Then we went home, had black tea, and watched Divergent.

3-6-19 Wednesday (Ash Wednesday)
The theme of the week in mental health, and we had a workshop discussing how to deal with hypothetical situations. My CA group had a lot of free time in the morning. We went to got get coffee in the really cute down town. Then we went to Holy Family Catholic School and facilitated a workshop with kindergarten students. I was in charge of most of the activities and I am surprising myself at how well I am doing in classrooms of each age. I am getting excited to go to Concordia. We had our debrief at a coffee shop, and I got another two hours of free time. Juliette, Leo, Anna and I all talked for a while. When we went home, we got to meet Kraig's two kids named Ashyln and Tyler. We all watched Insurgent.

3-7-19 Thursday
Today, the band learned the Mexican Medley. It is a really hard medley to play because there is a new chord almost every beat. It is just really hard to remember the whole things. Then, the acoustic promo group had two performances at a hospital and an old folks home. Every place we went, people were absolutely loved us and even paid us! I got a call from Walter and he told me that I got the position as vocal instructor at camp!!!!! I was so happy, and now I am so excited for camp. He said that I would be the great asset the staff has seen vocally for the past four years. He was really excited that I went to camp, I traveled for a year, I played Hope, I played piano, and I was a vocal intern on the road. He said that I was the best option by far, and that my musicianship will reflect the product of the show. I am excited to teach all cast vocals and solos for the entire show. At this point, I was soooooooo happy. When I got off the phone with him, I couldn't stop smiling, and Angelis knew right away that I got the job and I didn't even tell him. He screamed and was really happy for me! I told the whole acoustic group, the staff, Jeanna, Kyra, and my family! AHHHH it's gonna be so great, and I can't wait to spend all that time with Josie!

3-8-19 Friday
Today we had a school show at Grand Junction High School. This school has an extremely high rate of suicides, and the theme of the week is Mental Health. I could tell that the kids really needed to hear the message of our show. I actually got to sing Roller Coaster for the first time in a show and it was really powerful singing it to a group of students who needed to hear that message the most. After the show, we had a cast meeting. Since I am Alicen's assistant, I got to brainstorm ideas and create tasks for the team building of the cast. We had a scavenger hunt with random minute to win it games.

3-9-19 Saturday
Show Day!!! The show today was at four in the gym of Grand Junction High School. It was a great show with audience members 2 feet from the front of stage. During the VIP reception, the PR asked me to lead the meeting. It's always fun to be thrown into situations and think quickly on your feet. After the show, I helped take down the hospitality booth, the band, and the stage. Strike went really fast, and we got finished 30 minutes early!

3-10-19 Sunday
Host Family Day!! We woke up and ate French Toast and avocados. Then, Kraig took Sophi, Ashlyn, Tyler, and I up to Colorado National Monument. There were beautiful views up in the mountains. We drove for about two hours and got out at the looking points every once in a while. It was so quiet and peacefully up there. Then we went out for lunch and went home to chill and pack for tomorrow!! We are going to VEGAS!!!!!

  1. It was so wonderful to see you again Liv. Not just the show where we got the special treat of seeing you play Hope and play keys in the band, but just to be with you again for another absolutely EPIC family day! Can't wait until June when we will have another brief, but meaningful visit. I miss you more than I could possibly put into words...we all do. Keep doing great things and impacting people the way only you know how to do. Love you with my entire being! - Padre
