Grad Party

GRAD PARTY

The grad party last Friday the 22nd was such a blast, although, it started off to a rocky start. Twenty minutes before people started showing up for the party, the electricity went out in our garage. This meant that all of the crockpots full of meat would not be warmed up and ready for people to eat. We then decided to move all the food into the house. Then Alex showed up to help out and he saw that my mom was crying had a full on melt down and he went right to work. His dad is an electrician so he called him and ended up fixing the entire problem. While all of this was happening, we get a call from Joe saying that our boat was floating out of the lift and into the lake. My dad had to drive out there, jump in the lake, and save the boat. He came back to the party soaking wet and saw all the chaos that was happening. Once the electricity was fixed, we moved all the food back into the garage and as soon as four o'clock hit, everything was smooth sailing. We had such a great turn out with friends from school, angelica, choir, church, GNU, and the neighborhood. I was overwhelmed with how many people went out of their way to congratulate me on graduating. It was so worth it to do all the displays and set-up to show people who were very interested. My parents worked so hard to get everything set up, and my family was working hard in the kitchen making sure all the food was good to go. Meanwhile, I was greeting everybody I loved all in one place. As I was looking through cards, I realized how great of a support system I have at home, and I will never forget all the people who have impacted my life.

Graduation

Last night was graduation and the senior lock-in. I have a lot of feels about the idea of moving on and leaving the life I know behind. Graduation was a very long, but special, ceremony where people were celebrated for finishing high school. I was able to wear a gold rope on my gown for achieving a cumulative 3.8 GPA all four years. I met up with my closest friends to take pictures and remember this big milestone. From this moment on, my life will never be the same. My experiences will change, my friends will change, my living conditions will change, my livelihood will change, and my support system will change. Everything in my life will be turned around in the best way possible. I have made the best relationships with teachers and classmates, and I will probably loose touch with most of those people. As I look back at all the people who have poured into my life and supported me through every challenge, I am truly sad to say goodbye, especially, to my parents and my sisters. It's a surreal feeling watching everything come to an end, and knowing that what comes next will be even better. I am so excited for the future, and so thankful for the past and everyone who was a part of it.

Pre-Up With People

As I get ready to embark on the journey of a lifetime, I am terrified, excited, nervous, overjoyed, and ready all at the same time. I can remember some of the best memories meeting amazing people around the world at camp and it makes me so excited for what's to come. This future of traveling and performing for a whole year seems so crazy, but also an opportunity of a lifetime. As it gets closer and information about costuming and flights to Colorado are sent, the butterflies and nerves are setting in. I know that this organization is absolutely perfect for my passions and interests. I love to be in shows, to learn about cultures, to meet people, to travel, and to grow as a person. I am going to learn and experience things that I never would have just going to college. I have had one heck of a high school career. From winning singing competitions, to making it to All-State, to receiving the Carl E. Christopherson award, music has giving me success and a passion. I am starting to meet people in my cast through social media, and I know that I will meet some of my best friends all over the world in this next year. I am also starting to think about packing for 6 whole months, and its overwhelming but I feel like it is something that I can do. My life has been epic so far as I have traveled to 4 continents already and been in love with traveling from a young age. I can't wait to see how God is going to use me next year in that environment. This in between time from graduating and leaving for Israel/ Up With People is full of suspense and excitement.
