Pre-Up With People
As I get ready to embark on the journey of a lifetime, I am terrified, excited, nervous, overjoyed, and ready all at the same time. I can remember some of the best memories meeting amazing people around the world at camp and it makes me so excited for what's to come. This future of traveling and performing for a whole year seems so crazy, but also an opportunity of a lifetime. As it gets closer and information about costuming and flights to Colorado are sent, the butterflies and nerves are setting in. I know that this organization is absolutely perfect for my passions and interests. I love to be in shows, to learn about cultures, to meet people, to travel, and to grow as a person. I am going to learn and experience things that I never would have just going to college. I have had one heck of a high school career. From winning singing competitions, to making it to All-State, to receiving the Carl E. Christopherson award, music has giving me success and a passion. I am starting to meet people in my cast through social media, and I know that I will meet some of my best friends all over the world in this next year. I am also starting to think about packing for 6 whole months, and its overwhelming but I feel like it is something that I can do. My life has been epic so far as I have traveled to 4 continents already and been in love with traveling from a young age. I can't wait to see how God is going to use me next year in that environment. This in between time from graduating and leaving for Israel/ Up With People is full of suspense and excitement.

ReplyDeleteWhen I think back to finding out that I was pregnant with up you... (ok break time already, I can't see through my tears)
I was in transitional housing waiting to be shipped off to China. I could not get the shots that I needed for travel because of the pregnancy, I was sitting through evacuation strategy meetings, and listening to Uncle Mike say, "Your not still going, are you?" It was kind of a blur, but somehow I knew it was all going to be ok. I knew I had to take it on and make it as neat of an experience as I could. Your daddies sense of adventure - I guess and mine made us determined to see and experience everything about this world that we could.
You maybe had no choice, but to be a traveler, as we took you to places maybe a pregnant mommy/baby maybe should have never gone. But, without faith, risk and bravery I think life could be a bit boring. I see incredible faith in you and the bravery you show is so awesome. Your confidence is going to take you so far in life!!!!
This blog is absolutely outstanding!!! I also have a travel journal and it is an incredible memory to save.
